ICF HAS TRIPLED IN ONE YEAR

Above is a picture I took before the service started on Sunday. This past week was our first week to meet in the gymnasium of the International School of Dakar. Although there are plenty of challenges with the sound and acoustics, there are so many positive things about this move! First of all we have so much room! The outdoors area where we have refreshments and fellowship afterward is much more conducive to this with a small play ground right next to it for the children. (I will get more pics of this on Sunday). Circling the inside of the gym are all the flags of all the nations - a beautiful reminder that the church stands as a light to the nations.

We had dinner a couple of weeks ago with a couple in the church. They began to tell us about when they first moved here (from S. Africa) and how the principal of the school had shown them around the campus and had told them that the school was bursting at the seams. Even now, there is a huge building project going on as expansion is happening. This couple asked about religion in the school and the principal said that they did not propagate any religion at all but that they had a church that met in their school every Sunday. Our friends said to us that day that they believed that ISD was prospering because they had made room for God's people and that He was blessing them. Joel and I had not thought about that before but as they told this story to us, it was very moving to us. We pray for this school, that God would make His presence known there, not only on Sunday's but all through the week!

  2. Wow, what a testimony for how God blesses those who bless His children... a great and needed lesson in this dark world, for certain!

  3. It really is amazing how the school has opened its doors to you! Now that you have all that space, I know you will continue to grow even more!
